Notice to Exhibitors Your participation in, or attendance at, Silverwood, The BTCA National Specialty, and/or related events and outings indicates that you agree to abide by the Rules Governing Dog Shows as outlined by the AKC, and any and all additional rules or regulations as set forth by the BTC Philadelphia and the show committee.
You also agree to hold harmless the owner(s) and/or the leasee(s) of the premises and assume all liability resulting from any action of/by yourself and your dog(s). The American Kennel Club mandates that show-giving clubs enforce all rules regarding "conduct in the best interest of the sport of purebred dogs."
These rules include, but are not limited to, the destruction or theft of hotel property, failure to clean up/dispose of your dogs waste, in-season bitches soiling rooms, damage to or the destruction of hotel property or grounds. Also included is the failure to abide by the host hotels regulations regarding areas prohibited to dogs and the failure to pay room charges.
Violations will be dealt with firmly and could lead to a suspension of AKC privileges, including your ability to exhibit, stand a dog at stud and/or register litters and individual dogs.
Our host hotel advises that dogs are not permitted in the check-in lobby area or in the pool atrium. Bathing of dogs in guestrooms is not allowed and all dogs must be crated when left alone in your room(s).
The hotel staff has informed us that bedspreads will be removed from rooms where dogs are in residence. Bedding will include a top sheet and blanket. If you plan to allow your dog on the bed, please bring a blanket or sheet to place over the hotel bedding.
Plastic sheeting is required under all crates. Please bring a plastic shower curtain liner or large plastic bags with you to the hotel for that purpose. The Bull Terrier Club of Philadelphia will have plastic available at the hotel for a nominal charge in the event someone forgets or could not bring plastic with them.
The BTC of Philadelphia requests that you closely supervise your Bull Terriers and not allow them to be disruptive to other hotel guests. Instead, please use this opportunity to educate the public about the true nature of our breed by exemplifying responsible dog ownership.
Thank you!
